Index racing returns to E'Town and there are changes

Post by REDGAR »

Heads-up indexes return to E'town in 2009.

8.50 returns
10.0 returns
11.50 is BORN. RP has decided to combine the former 11.0 and 12.0 to one new index...11.50. No more 11.0 or 12.0.

Now the other big change.

Index racing will be conducted on Friday nights. No longer on Saturday's.

Redgar i heard Atco may change their 10.0-12.0 index to fri-day nites. I sure hope that Atco & Etown are going to talk over their schedules for the index classes because if they are the same nite Etown is wasting their time.

Redgar,
Will the 10.0 and 11.50 run together on the same Friday nights as the 8.50 or a different Friday night?

this is the job that pays for the racing. we'll have to see when the dates are and what can be done about it. you know i will usually do whatever it takes to get there. maybe they will start at 10 and race til 2. i think i get to e-town in 2 hrs if i push it.

David seems well. he has finished his radiation and the first phase of chemo. he starts the second phase of chemo on the 15th and he goes to see the radiation oncologist on Christmas eve. she will schedule his follow mri then and that's when we find out if we are winning or not. until then it's kinda like some weird state of limbo where you don't know it things are good or bad. he says he feels fine and has no pain or anything like that so i guess it's as good as it gets for now.

This would be perfect since my car is right around that 11.50 mark. When would they start everything on a friday though. This is a nice hour and a half drive for me at least.

Unless it changes from this year's schedule, gates open at 5 pm. I have not been to a lot of Friday's lately but I think they try to do first qual at 6 then second at 7 and start elims by 7:30.
Some of the 8.50 racers could chime in and let us know how close to that it was this year.

10.00 INDEX FOR FRIDAY NIGHTS WILL PROBALY BOMB.
COULDN'T GET A GOOD FEILD ON A SATURDAY WHEN MOST PEOPLE ARE OFF.
AND NOW WITH CECIL COMING ABOARD WITH 7 RACES NEXT YEAR THAT MAKES 17 BETWEEN ATCO AND CECIL.

I KNOW I WILL BE @ATCO AND CECIL BEFORE ETOWN ALONG WITH CRAIG.
SO WHO DOES THAT LEAVE?

ETOWN NEEDS TO MAKE THE INDEX SERIES MORE RACER FRIENDLY.

HOW DOES ATCO GET ANYWHERE BETWEEN 25-40 OF US ON A THURSDAY NIGHT WHEN WE ARE ALL DRAGGING OUR ASS THE NEXT DAY AT WORK AND ETOWN CAN'T GET A 16 CAR FIELD ON A SATURDAY????????? THINK ABOUT IT
I KNOW I DON'T GET HOME UNTIL 1-1:30 AM. AND UP AT 5:30.

JUST MY THOUGHTS.

8.50s two qualifying sessions are 6:30 and 7:00 first round is about 7:45-

BUT be ready when called and basically round robin after that !!!! 8.50 finished ALL races last year

I would rather have them stay on Saturday's too but unfortunately it is Friday's. I would rather have them keep the class I ran, 11.0 but I will run 10.0 when I can.

On the bright side, we racers have another option so let's see how it goes. If one maybe can't make one on Thursday or Saturday then Friday is an option for the fix :D

So what does this mean for Mean Street? Will that class still be on the schedule? Like Keith said, qualifying for 8.50 was at 6:30 and 7:00 with 1st round starting approx. 7:45. Yes, we got every single race done but we hustled. There was absolutely no down time for any of us at all. Just wondering how we're going to get it done if Mean Street's still on the schedule, plus now the addition of 10.0 and 11.50 and test and tune??? Before anyone says I'm complaining, I'm really not. Just curious.

Who the hell does the schedule over there ??? It is fine the way it is. Please leave it on saturday or you will lose about half the 12.00 guys "THAT MEANS THERE MIGHT BE 4 OR 5 THAT SHOW UP". And on top of that there are a bunch of 10.00 guys "ABOUT HALF THE FIELD" who come from camden and gloucestor county and eastern pennsy who will have a tough time making it there on time. LEAVE IT THE WAY IT IS PLEASE!!!!

Far as I know Mean Street remains how it is.

Sorry folks, I am just passing along the information I received when I meant with them on my Corvette Challenge dates.

I don't know what all went into deciding to move it.
I can say 12.0 turnout had taken a turn for the worse on Saturday's and we saw only a few cars in that part to the index.
