Has anybody noticed a difference in performance at the track after installing a alternator?
Did it make a difference in the performance of the MSD?

I can't give you a definative answer but I can tell you that if your new alternator regulates your charge voltage with in .3 VDC, your electronics should operate the way they were designed because their internal power supplies won't have to struggle to compensate for wavering operating voltage.

Example.......alternator charging at 14.2 VDC; should stay between 13.9 and 14.5 VDC.

Hope this helps...... :geek:

I asked because I know the MSD has to see the correct voltage and I am not running a
alternator, only 1 big battery and I am installing a alternator this season and wondering if it is
going to make a difference.

I see the fastest cars run alternators, why would you not want to run one...You get rid of that big battery after you install your alt. and should run a little faster....OLDHEAD

true....

I don't see how a car with out an alternator can consistently hold the proper operating voltage while the car is on and running.
