Sorry, my shop phone rang.

From talking to a lot of racers at the track and asking questions. 90% of the racers said the MT was the best DR for racing. I originally was going with the Nitto but most claimed they were a better street tire than a traction race tire. I mostly care about being more consistant than getting mileage on the roadway.

These F-body boards are so filled with people who have the worst advice ever. I am trying to weed that stuff out and get good answers but there are tons of "strokes" on the www...lol

Lou, the Hoosier drag radial is the best for racing but I'm not sure they have them in sizes bigger than 15". They also SUCK on the road and don't last very long at all, I think the MT is the best all around tire. I can't imagine the car not running better unless you weren't spinning at all with the regular tires.

. . . so how did it go ?

Good morning folks, the weather is really nice here this morning. :D

The car ran almost exactly the same. I do believe the weather was actually a bit worse. (500ft) For a street car it was pretty consistent. I gotta say for $15 bucks it's a pretty good deal. i got 8 runs in and could have got another 3 or 4 if i wanted to.

I guess i should clarify that the MT is the most popular choice for a drag radial in the ET range my car is in. I did read that they are a handful in the rain but the 4 people that i know race and travel with them say no problems at all???

The car def spun a whole lot less. The weird thing is my 60 ft times were almost identical to last time out. I'm assuming it was weather and def track prep. I kind of got my deep staging groove back and should be in better shape for Saturday.

Busy today but i have to try and get out early and take the family to the NJ State fair in Sussex

The MT's are fine on a dry road and not bad in the rain, the Hoosiers are like driving on a slick in the rain, they only have 2 little razor like grooves for tread.

I could def see that. The MT does have sipes(SP) for the rain. A bit of a learning curve for me as i'm used to hot and sticky bias slicks. lol

I also forgot how hard it is to stage with power brakes :mad2:

my experience with the hoosiers is they went away after 50 or so runs , i get over 100 runs on the m/t's with consistent 1.56 60 foots

way to screw over your customers!!
after you advertise that a show is rain or shine you cancel half a day before because it might actually rain ???

i took off work the whole weekend to attend cjponys open house and show saturday in harrisburg and american muscles show on sunday in media, both advertised rain or shine so 4 of us from the club got prepaid nonrefundable hotels out in exton .

we brought tents, umbrellas , tarps and cleaning supplies "just in case" , imagine how pissed we were to get an email on one guys smartphone that american muscle had postponed the show at 10 am sat?? what if noone had a smartphone and we had gone down there ?
i'm out $118 for the hotel , a days pay and it's drizzling outside :mad2:

That sux D2.

With this amount of rain i'm not sure what they could have done? Very few if any would have showed.

Been through the hotel deal and notbgetting a refund. I even called once before they said i had to and still was charged. The guy i talked to never cancelled it and i never wrote down the cancellation number. Tried fighting it but still had to pay :bs:

yea i know i'm screwed , lucky i got the studio with fold out couch and someone needed to share so i'm only out half .
i pre-booked and paid to get a cheaper rate and it said no refund but i left a message for the manager and maybe get a voucher to use it another time or some money back ? whatever .
i realize american muscle was screwed no matter what call they made , but to advertise rain or shine and then have bad weather reports all week and wait till 10am sat to cancel ? by an email post no less?
we had 24 cars going too

now its next sunday and the weather still looks like crap :mad2:

Oh my god Elle were you in a Silver SS? I remember you now. I lost 2nd round to Dave Harvey. Put Terry Neiman on the trailer with a .001 first round but went -.019 red the next. Oh well.

We ran 9" Hoosiers and they hooked great but we beat the sidewall out of one of them really fast. Then went to the 10" and been on all season and still hooking with plenty left.

Tried M/T but couldn't get them to hook.

Seems like it's almost a 50/50 But more folks seem to be leaning towards Hoosier these days.
I think it's got alot to do with weight of the car and what susp you run. But on the street, we use the M/T. No problems in the rain and they seem to hook good on the street.

And talking about getting screwed, did anyone run @ YB this weekend. We left Sat night..

back racing again

had fun doing the cruise and show circuit this summer with the notch , met some new friends and won some trophies
but i brought the hatchback out to a mustang show and go at etown , went to the finals and dived back in .

was pissed last year that everyone went to 11.50 for index but once i got back to bracket racing i realized how much i missed it .

seem to be getting a bunch of redlights charging the tree the way i was for pro tree so gotta lower the launch rpms a bit but i'll be seeing you guys out there again

55, i read some stuff on YB about the race. Def suks that racers got hosed.

D2, i did the car show stuff and got bored real quick. Racing with some car show stuff thrown in is a great combo. Racing every weekend for a few years def burned me out some. I'm actually enjoying seeing my racing friends more than the actual racing.

Fwucking raining like a sum bytch here the last 2 days
