I used to Deep Stage last year for the 10.0 Class, but that was out-lawed. I adpated and learned how to use my Trans Brake this year, hurts my damn back! My car only 60's in the high 1.5 range and only goes .120 to .140 on the 500 Pro Tree. I used to go .010 to .030 Deep though............
Now I'm hitting a 125hp shot of juice at the release of the Trans Brake so I can hit the tree and run the 10.0 #. The nitrous is on a timer, only on for 1.2 to 1.5 seconds............. I never touch the tune in the ECM unless the weather changes a bunch.
There are a few area's you can adjust. You can adjust shift points, timing and some other area's. Can't give all my secrets away. Some people will only adjust one area or all at one time. It is a simple program. A little pricey, but it has paid for it self. The program will aloow you yo adjust or change anything - including fuel gauge, tach - anything. Amazing what you can do with it. Just need a lap top. The program has only been available for about two years.

As a shallow stager, how is it a problem when the other driver puts on both bulbs before you prestage? There is no such thing as Courtesy staging and it has been replaced with autostart. If the other driver fully stages before you turn on your prestage light you have no time limit to light your top bulb. Once you decide to light your prestage you then the have a full 10 seconds to light the stage bulb. Once both stage light are on the tree will come down at a random intervel which I believe is roughly 2 seconds ish. As a rule the deep stager needs to get in first. To a deep stager prestage + staged light = only prestaged. He (or she) still needs to go in further an put off the top bulb to be fully staged. Reversing the example if a shallow stager puts both bulbs on the deep stager has forever to light the prestage. Once the prestage light is on they have 10 seconds to light the staged bulb but only 2 seconds or less to get fully staged. Many times the deep stager is still bumping in as the tree is activating.
Not taking any sides here. Hopefully clearing thing up about the deep stage and autostart things.
Courtesy staging and no-deep staging is a common rule in all of the heads up classes.. Courtesy staging is definitely in effect at E-town, they allow deep in 11.50 as these guys crossed over from the Corvette 11.50 where it's done all the time.
Has Courtesy staging ever been enforced by the starter? I'm aware of the no-deep in some index races which then allow a t-brake. I read the E-town index rules and it seems to me deep is honored in the index races. This means the starter is over riding the autostart (holding the tree). In that case even when a deep guy has both bulbs on the shallow has more than 10 seconds to stage. 10 seconds is a ton of time to go from pre-staged to staged. If deep is allowed but not honored than the deep guy (deep guy is on his own) has to rush in cause the tree is comming down. Either case the shallow car still has enought time to stage.
I've seen it enforced a few times, once last week. He'll enforce it when someone double bulbs and the other racer sits there waiting for the starter to back the other car out. A lot of the times the starter doesn't have the time to back people out because the racer not staged yet goes in regardless.

Thanks for the info. I usually deep stage at the weekly bracket races and have been "quick treed" so much I have incorporated that into my normal staging routine. I've had no issues going deep (and out first) when my opponent has both bulbs lit.
