I want to build a single turbo motor either a 383 or a 406. Looking for low to mid 8's and 1000hp.
looking for someone with turbo knowledge to lead me in the right direction.

theturboforums.com You can find pretty much anything over there. You can meet your goals with a single 88. Carb / or efi? Intercooled? A/w or A/a? What type of fuel do you want to run?

Gonna take at least 1,000 at the wheels to get that done. Not impossible, but i would go with an aftermarket block and at least the 4.125 or 4.155 bore.

What displacement do those get me.
My plan is a Dart block; Eagle crank, H-beam rods dont know which ones yet and pistons around 8.5 or 9 to 1
Should it be a mechanical or a roller?

With a 4.155 and 3.48 stroke your 377.
3.75 stroke you are 406.
3.875 is 414
and lastly 4.0 stroke is 434.

with a turbo you can really cut down on the stroke. Personally I wouldn't go over the 3.875, but that is personal preference, and i have my own theories and ideas, I'm not saying that it is a rule, and I'm not saying more stroke can't/won't make more power.

I'd go with a solid roller.
