well...gags is prob gone...talks are ongoing with LA for a gagne trade(gagne waived his no trade clause).....and turco may also sign w/the flyers now as well

The Flyers are in “exploratory” talks with at least one NHL club about trading Simon Gagne, who has a no-trade clause, according to one NHL source.

Sources said no trade is imminent, but Gagne has agreed to waive his no-trade clause.

Gagne, the Flyers et al., were asked to think about the deal over the July 4 weekend, sources said.

Hockeybuzz.com first reported that the Flyers had asked Gagne to waive his no-trade clause.

It is believed the Flyers would deal the 30-year-old to Los Angeles.

The intent here appears to be to clear $5 million off the Flyers' cap so they can re-open talks with goalie Marty Turco and have enough cash left to re-sign both Dan Carcillo and Darroll Powe.

Aside from their obvious Flyer ties, the Kings are considered a prime target area because both general manager Dean Lombardi and assistant GM Ron Hextall are huge fans of the 10-year veteran, who is among the most likable Flyers on the roster and a fixture in the City of Philadelphia.

Lombardi denied to CSNPhilly.com earlier on Friday that a major trade was in the works with the Flyers.

Every indication is nothing will be settled until after the holiday weekend.

Gagne, besides overcoming post-concussion syndrome and several surgeries to repair his groin and abdomen, has been one of the most beloved athletes here. He, Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins and Eagles kicker David Akers are the three longest-tenured pro athletes in Philadelphia.

Despite his history of assorted injuries, Gagne has averaged 29 goals over the past five seasons and 35 over four of those seasons. Drafted as a center, he switched to wing and has 259 career goals and 524 career points in 664 games, plus he is an impressive plus-143 lifetime. Gagne has been nominated several times for the Selke Trophy as one of the league's top defensive forwards.

thatd be a waste of talent going to a team like that, hes was better off going to the kings or devils.Last time the islanders won the cup was 82-83.

dam-it the flyers sign 1 of my fave. players Zherdev. he played 4 the rangers 2 years ago and let him go to russia
anyway congrats on a 20 or more goals a year scorer at least i wil be able to see him play again. :freakout:

so now this means they have no room for gags. and the rangers are 1 of the teams looking to pick him up :D i would rather have zherdev, younger and faster but what the hell gags is welcome aboard.

flyers fans keep an eye out for this guy he will give u 30 goals this year.

:mad2: :mad2: :mad2:

nick zherdev he was drafted by the jackets and played for the rangers for 1 year and didnt re-sign him b/c he wanted a raise look him up here are some of his highlights. as long as the flyers let him play his game he can put in 30 goals i was so pissed off the gm let him walk. he can go end to end himself and score.
