OK, i've been down this road before and sold my last one for some family issues.
So i went out and found the ratiest 65 i could find and started from the begining. And this way i wasen't chopping up a nice Chevy II like a few of my old ones. You be the judge. And for those that know me from here and the original GDR, i may or may not keep it. But for now, i'm building it. :D :chevy:
ENJOY the pics>

And the axle is not staying Purple, lol
And the rear quarter is cut and i'm still mocking up the radius as you can see the vise grips.

That's it for now, I'll up-date later.

Yep, big diff, but the floors look the same, lol I got both new fenders and a new 2.5" steel cowl hood for it. Also got a full floor pan, just gotta figure out how to get it in without cutting the frame ties.. The 406 from my old 55 and then was in my daughters 69 T/A, is in it right now. Seems i have to move the spring perches forward an inch. I don't think these new springs are as strong as they should be.

And you are right, not much going on in this post/section, It's a ghost town..

I bought one of those straight axled beasts once. It was a 65 Chevy II that had a 409/4speed with side pipes. It was the second most evil hadling car I ever owned...

I had a 64 some years back also, Old tk I-beam cut to size,. And your right, it was a HANG ON ride. :driving2: All i can say is when i let that loose, i was glad the street was clear. I needed all the room there was. I felt like i was in a pinball macine and i was the ball.
And i wish i had a crazy old motor like that now, I was going to by my buddies 409 and put it in the last one, But for some reason decided against it. I think it was the cost of the re-build and i had a new 406 @ the time, no brainer.

I hope this one goes a little more straighter. :chevy:
